Palisades Equine Partners Inc

Palisades Equine was created in 2021 to provide equine themed recreational activities for people who may not have the chance to enjoy horses otherwise. This includes assisting young people and disadvantaged populations so they can enjoy activities like trail riding, riding lessons, and equine therapy experiences.

Palisades Equine partnered with CHA CHA JAGO Inc, also known as Jigsaw Farms, a company that is a State of California concessionaire at Will Rogers State Park which provides equine therapy and recreational opportunities to the Public.

The Goal

The immediate goal is to assist Jigsaw Farms rebuild the infrastructure destroyed by the Palisades Fire at Will Roger State Park and to reestablish the equine activities at the Park.

The Plan

It is too soon to know the exact plan for recovery. There is little or no access to The Will Rogers Park until the immediate disaster is over and there is freedom to move, take stock and do a detailed damage assessment. Once this is done a Plan can be formulated.

What we do know is much of the infrastructure at the Park is destroyed. That includes historic structures that were part of the Park's charm. However, it also includes the equestrian infrastructure that Jigsaw Farms relied on to provide equestrian recreational and therapeutic opportunities to the Public. As tragic as that may be, the parkland itself, the foundation on which all else was built, remains. What was built can be restored and the will to undertake that task is strong.

Management

Palisades Equine is managed by a Board Directors consisting of 3 members. Each have experience with horses, business and management. That Board anticipates organizing an Advisory Board to assist it to establish its priorities, assist with fundraising and create management procedures to safeguard its resources and assure its plans are carried out on behalf of the citizens of California.

There will be more information available on the Advisory Board as it takes shape. The existing Board is well connected to the local Palisades Community. A capable group of people who sympathize with the Palisades Equine goals is already showing up. People who would like to be involved or can make a contribution are encouraged to reach out.
